Dave Smardon

Business Advisor

Dave Smardon has a background in establishing, growing and financing technology-based companies. Early in his career, Dave held a variety of mid-to senior level positions with corporations including Texas Instruments Inc. and Apple Computer Inc.

A serial entrepreneur, he has founded three successful businesses in educational software, technology outsourcing services and venture capital / investment.

From 1986 through 1990, Dave headed up Apple Computer's Canadian venture capital activities.

Dave became immersed in the agricultural sector in 2003 and assumed the role of President and CEO of Bioenterprise Corporation. Since then, he has built Bioenterprise into North America's leading business accelerator in the agricultural industry.

In 2012, he established Bioenterprise Capital Ventures, a venture capital firm focusing on investments in emerging and innovative global agricultural firms.

2005 - Present

Built Bioenterprise Corporation from a two-man operation into Canada’s most successful business accelerator with 32 staff and six offices; focusing on agricultural technologies including; digital agriculture, cannabis technologies, industrial and commercial bioproducts, functional foods, traditional crop science, animal science, protein technology and biologicals. Bioenterprise has 18 partners in 9 provinces, and strategic partnerships in 10 countries
